I have a bunch of soft tip 150 gr spitzer bullets that I would load in 30-30. My question is if they are ok to shoot as long as I load them one at a time through the chamber?

Yes, actually you can place one in the chamber, and add one in the tube. Just don`t load more then one in the magazine.

Be careful with your OAL.

I load "one and one" as does a friend who likes my pet load with the sierra 150 spitzer. His marlin never gave us an issue but I learned the hard way on my Mod 94... I chambered one and put one in the tube, and I'll be damned if the OAL/bullet combo didn't insist on not ejecting back out without being fired to get rid of that bullet

You might also not get it to cycle from the tube to the chamber. I used to load 150 & 165 spitzers for a contender that I mistakenly tried to shoot out of a marlin. Yiou may have to pop the ejector off the rim and load singly if the oal is too long to cycle. :( Dummy rounds are your friend. :)

It's been done many times and it works as long as you test the rounds to make sure it will cycle in the levergun. Like said above, load one in the chamber and ONLY one in the tube and you will be fine.

Loading one in the chamber and one in the mag is fine. As was mentioned above, watch your C.O.L. Years ago, I had a Marlin 336. Accuracy was ok with flat point bullets. However, spitzers really unlocked the accuracy potential for that rifle. That rifle was a tackdriver with 165gr bullets.
