I'm looking at picking up an Argentine Hi-Power, the FM-90. Both SOG and J&G Sales are carrying it. SOG is selling "Very Good" condition pistols for $40 less than J&G is selling "Excellent" pistols. I'm willing to pay the extra $40 for an Excellent versus a Very Good, but I don't know if this is in fact what I would get. If they are both selling from the same batch of imports with the same quality I'd rather save the $40. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thank you.

I had a poor dealing with SOG once, and have dealt J&G several times without complaint. I'd spend the extra money with J&G to make sure I knew what I was getting.

I have yet to have any problems with SOG, having ordered from them at least a couple dozen times, half or more of those being firearm purchases.
I haven't had any problems with J&G either, though I've ordered from them perhaps a half dozen times.
Flip a coin; both are reputable, IMO.

Both are good. SOG does add 3% to their prices for cc orders after the fact. That may narrow the gap between the prices if you didn't figure that in. In that case, J&G would it for an excellent.

I have actually visited J&G Sales. Nice place, good people. I've ordered a few things from them before, as well, and have always been happy with the results. For firearms, it generally would cost less for me after shipping, hand select fee, and the FFL's transfer fee to just burn the gas and drive up there, but even then their prices can't be beat.
