I have about 1500 rds of 45 Colt ammo and only have a Ruger in that caliber which I do not enjoy shooting nearly as much as my SW Model 10. So, started wanting a SW in 45 Colt...Voila, finally, yesterday I found a Heritage Series 25-11 in a shop. The box and all accoutrements were there. It has been shot very little it appeared and had been in a collection. (There were some other very nice SWs and Colts there too but I can only buy one gun at a time.) I was not going to pass it up. FYI..There were about 300 25-11s made with about half in 45 Colt and blued frame and the other half in 45 ACP with case color frame. These were all Heritage Series and are replicas of the old Model of 1917. I even got lucky and got a really low serial. So, I pick it up tomorrow and am soliciting comments about this gun. Do any of you have one? Do you like how it shoots? What can you comment on about it. (I do have the SW reference book in latest edition.) I am beside myself with enthusiasm and cannot wait to pick up..tomorrow.
Forgot to mention it was made in 2001. I am grateful for all information and sorry..but I do not know how to post photos.

Another remark and question

First another question...does anyone know if the 25-11 in 45 Colt would have the same serial number sequence as the 25-11 in 45 ACP? Thanks.

Also, got the gun this morning and had time to shoot 36 rounds, outside in progressively bad Iowa snowy weather, before I had to stop because of cold hands. It is a wonderful, wonderful shooter in my opinion.

Congrats on your model 25. I have had several in the past and now have the 625 in both 45 ACP and 45 Colt. Both are very accurate and have great actions.
