he is? why didnt he say so? its loosely worded. you could interpret it that way though its not what he said or what the transcript has. he said war effort
I think we're going to end up with civil war if we continue down the military operation strategies that we have in place. I say that sincerely as someone that supported the war in the first place.
That would be a pretty liberal interpretation considering the fact that he was talking specifically about Iraq. Any statement can be misinterpreted when taken completely out of context.
I've been watching 90% of the 9/11 stuff on CSPAN and I saw Senator Kerry make that statement.
One reason I really don't like the Bush Administrations policy on Iraq, is this absolutely nonsense with keeping Al Jazeera on the air. Bob Kerry really nailed Bush on that comment and I think there is plenty of room for criticism. Its shocking to hear a Democrat say that. He must have been thinking or something.........
Al Jazeera is a satellite network based in Qatar, not Iraq. To get it off the air we'd have to either bomb their uplink station, knock out their satellite (which would take who knows how many other networks with it) or somehow get the Qatari government to shut them down.
BTW, Qatar is a friendly country-CENTCOM-FWD headquarters is located there.
