How much damage will bore cleaner do if you accidentally get it on the stock of the rifle? Will it ruin the finish, or is it not a big deal?

Some solvents are pretty bad, others aren't so rough. Depends on the finish on the furniture and the solvent used. My best advice is to remove the metal parts of the gun completely from the furniture if you're not sure how it will affect the finish. I know the shellac used on the old Russians is very sensitive to Hoppe's #9, and so is the polymer used by Arsenal.

Depends on the strength of the solvent and the type of finish. I find that Hoppe's doesn't seem to do anything to oil finishes; in fact sometimes I rub Hoppe's purposefully onto my stock that I finished with Tung oil.

If you're talking about something like Acetone, try not to let that stuff touch any finish.
