Some .45 auto questions

I live in Florida and carry a Kimber Pro Carry (either an HD II or an SLE) .45ACP daily. I carry it in a fanny pack slung across my shoulder (for medical reasons). I don't go in for lightweight alloy frames for several reasons, one being that I don't like the added recoil and another is I've had a bad experience with an alloy framed gun. My vote is for a 1911 of either the Commander (Pro Carry) or Officer's (Ultra Carry) size.

I have carried a .45 CCW for ALONG time!!!!

I will say the Sig 220 is a very sweet gun! But it is large and it is a tad fatter than the 1911. Not nearly as fat as the USP(Compact), and Glock 21/30, but still largish.
One thing with 1911's, they are thin and with a quality IWB and belt, they can be concealed under a one-size larger T or Polo. I like the Officer's sized grip, for less chance of it printing.
Though I have two Officer's sized guns...I do prefer the balance of the 4 inch(as opposed to 3.5 in) slides.
The Wilson KZ-45 Compact has a 4 inch barrel and Officer's sized grip, but it holds 9 rounds! The grip seems to feel just a tiny bit fatter than the single stack...but because it is polymer and therefore has no wooden grips...it is FAR thinner than the ParaOrd double stacks. They run about 1000 new, (as does the Kimber CDP series Compact), but will give a LIFETIME of service.
Other 1911's, the ParaOrd CCW is all steel and has that awesome DAO trigger! The Colt CCO can still be found if you look hard enough. STI makes one as well.
Non 1911 in the same size range...the Sig 245 feels real nice, but I have never shot one(almost bought one, but opted for the ParaOrd LDA Companion instead).
There are other's too...the glock 36, S&W 457(did not like it, personally), the 'chief's special' .45, the spanish auto's.
But I have been packing a 1911 for many years(27) and like the 'feel' of it best. But the Sig P-220 and P245 are a very close second!
IMHO,
