So have about 300 pieces of
458 Socom brass and been having trouble clambering and extracting some rounds. So I got a Lyman ammo checker all but about 50 pass the ammo checker test.
Went ahead and resized those 50 2 or 3 times in the die using a rock chucker with a good amount of pressure on the cam over. Shell holder is 100% in contact with the die. Appears the thick base is just springing back.
Some of the brass I got second hand no signs of case head separation.
Loaded 10s of thousands of rounds and never ran into this.
Most any other case I would just toss but these are pricy and very hard to come by. With shipping near a buck a case.
Was thinking hitting the base with a map gas torch then size but.......
That is a pain and may make things problematic
Toss ?
Trim a shell holder?
Call starline?
Watcha Think?
