The "posted' gun show, no lees.

So, I'm discussing the can on a HK 45c with a dealer and there it goes. BAM!!! You could have heard a mouse pissing on cotton balls after that.

Not 20 feet to my left some cat is shocked and bleeding. I heard him yelp, good ... silly punk desrves it. I've got cops pushing me aside, medics come a running, the guy at the table never gave me a price for the gun.

I'd like to offer the internet a nickle's worth of free advice:

Please don't play with your guns.

There, I said it.

Apparently, this &^%&^%& is a TX CHL holder, wanting to check his holster for fit on a new gun. Bear in mind, he's not supposed to have the gun in the first place. The place is posted, this is TX talk for "no carry." So, pointing his loaded carry piece at his hand, he pulls the trigger. How he got here from there, I'll never guess. In fact most of the hows of this story are guesses. Now, nobody can look at the guns at this dealer's table because some (*&(*^%%%^ decided to break the law and carry his loaded gun into the show THEN broke ALL the laws of common sense and shot hisself. Cops close off the area, medics fix the guy up, janitors clean up the blood, I go around to the jerky table .... man I'm so upset.

The spicy jerky, wasn't ... I've had spicier pancakes.

I'll reiterate for the people who swear it'll never happen to them:

Some cat could have shot me at the Houston gun show, please, pretty please, pretty please with sugar on top,

DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR GUNS IN PUBLIC!!!!

Whoa, was this at the High Caliber show in Houston? I was there until a just a couple hours ago.

The guy broke a state law and then broke one or more gun safety rules. He clearly needs to lose his CHL! :scrutiny: Gives CHL holders a bad rep!

Yeah, that'll look good all over the liberal, mainstream media. They'll have a field day.... and that asshat gave them a reason. :fire::cuss::banghead:

Got no tolerance for this...take his CCW! He is a serious danger.

Edit to add, I just learned about a month ago that some fool blew half of his hand off with a Colt Series 70 reissue .45 ACP in my Advanced Tactical Shooting course that I took about a year ago. He shot himself in the hand, side-on, bullet entering high-up near the wrist/thumb, and penetrating downward toward the middle finger. Apparently it literally removed fingers. I had JUST complimented him on his brand new Series 70 STS. He had just had Laser grips installed and had never fired it. He was 2 booths over from me. Crap, I forgot all about posting that until I just read this.

Trip, while I firmly believe the 4 rules will always keep people safe, provided they're followed. I think "don't play with your guns in public" might be a good rule #5.

Sorry, I'm still a bit grumpy. Some @$#@)*$$ could have shot me. I wasn't really feeling melodramatic, until I typed that the first time. Now, it has just hit me ..... He really could have shot me as easily as he did his own hand .... shudder .... shudder ....

Yes, high caliber, GRB, table 4, moron capped hisself.

While I agree the guy's an idiot, it's no reason to deprive him of his 2nd amendment rights. He's a moron, not a felon.

He broke the rules regarding concealed carry. It was posted no concealed carry. Is that ok with you?

Actually, Jimmie, idiocy is the ONLY reason I think people should be denied 2A rights.

If you prove yourself unable to handle the simple responsibility to safely handle a gun, you should not only lose your 2a rights, you should be shot too. This guy was, at least, the latter.

You're confusing what I said. Did he break the law? Yep. Should he have to pay those consequenes? Yep.

Should there be ANY law that can deprive you of your 2nd amendment rights? Nope.

Hell, 3/4 of this country wouldn't have RKBA in that case.

No. Dumb goes on all day in all places. I actually kind of like dumb people. Hell, I am one.

Shooting onesself in the hand is a special kind of stupid. Shooting onesself in the hand while surrounded by 7000 strangers IS AN ESPECIALLY unique kind of stupid. The kind of stupid that deserves being drug behind a pick up truck on a chain. Being fed to a wood chipper kind of idiocy. CERTAINLY losing your right to HAVE arms, not guns, arms, the things your hands are attached to. He should have all of his arms taken away and melted .... the meaty ones should be melted while attached.

I'm sorry, I think felons should be armed. I think kids should be armed. I think illegal aliens should be armed. People who shoot them selves, in a crowded room, with their own gun should not only not be allowed guns, they really shouldn't be allowed arms either.

We call that "natural selection". It is just too bad that good people have to suffer for the stupidity of others.

I can see how it must have went down.

"Hooo-dawgie... that right tar shore is a purty holster. I tell you, I'd give my right arm fer sumpin' dat purty." And then he did.

Sorry, just picking on the Texas talk. I know, I know, don't mess with Texas.
