Its ebay,all the time I see people pay more for used items then the same iten can be bought new.

example, I'm a general contractor, with the construction in the craper, lots of guys are selling thier tools. I have yet to see a used tool( in great shape) that did not sell for close to the retail price, and often more when you add in shiping.

I'm always amazed at the prices people pay on eBay. I was looking for a powder measure a while back, and thought I could find a used one cheap on eBay. Imagine my shock when I saw folks paying more than retail for a used powder measure! I ended up buying a new one.

My criteria for buying on eBay is about 50-60% of retail. Any more than that, you might as well buy new, and not take the risk of buying someone else's junk. I've pretty much quit looking for stuff on eBay because the prices are just too high.
