I have a ruger hawkeye m77 in wood stock standard, which is factory free floated. Is it normal when you put some pressure on the forearm for it to move slightly. I tried adjusting the action screws but i think it has to do with forearm pressure. Any help would be great.

Flexing in the forearm is normal. That's why it's free floated, so that flex doesn't affect the barrel.

Ok I understand your point, but when i hold the rifle and squeeze the forearm slightly it should move a little and spring back a tiny bit?

Rugers are not typically floated from the factory. They are designed with a pressure point at the end of the stock. If you are squeezing the forearm "slightly" and flexing the forearm in relation to the barrel either your "slightly" greatly differs from mine or something is amiss. Check the tightness of the action screws. Torque values are on the Ruger website.

silent sam what is your model and is it synthetic or wood? Ruger said the hawkeye barrels are free floated and they mentioned the pressure point. They also said you should be able to grab the stock in one hand and the barrel in the other and "slightly" be able to move the stock around and here a clicking noise. I have the m77 hawkeye in standard.
