A few questions for Springer enthusiasts.
1. Do you shoot in competition?
2. Do you shoot only at targets?
3. Do you hunt with your Springer's?
If so your go to rifles.
I don't do competition, shoot at targets several times a week and hunt when opportunities arise. I have four go to models of rifles for hunting.
Hatsan Carnivore or 130QE .30
The 125 in .22 or .25
150 sniper vortex .22
Xisico XS-28M
Six rockchucks Friday morning with the 135 Carnivore.

I have shot in competition and I have hunted with springers. It's been awhile since I've done either of those things--not really a choice--it's just how things have worked out. For hunting, it depends. I've hunted some with a .20cal Beeman R1 (HW80) but also with my FWB300 Universal, my R7 and even with my FWB65 pistol. I have a number of other springers suitable for hunting including a .22 Webley Eclipse and a .22 Tech Force Contender 89 that I reworked.

1. The only competitions I currently shoot in are informal, on line, postal sort of matches. I used to shoot in a Saturday air pistol league a few years back.

2. Everything I shoot at is a target whether it is a paper bullseye, a tin can, a spinner, a wine cork or a squirrel.

3. I don't generally go out specifically hunting animals with a springer. I do occasionally shoot yard pests but don't really consider it hunting.

My D34 is the one I go to for anything involving pest shooting or for reaching out beyond about 30 yards. For most shooting at various "targets" inside of 30 yards I tend to pick up my HW30S. I have been shooting that one a lot for a while now.

No competitions for me - just targets and tree rats who invade my bird feeders. I use a RWS 34 .177; with the right pellet, I can kill a squirrel or rabbit to 20 yards (at least so far)

With the exception of his particular airgun or past Sat. league shooting, Bill wrote exactly my same particular use/situation with springers as well.
