If you're in Los Angeles, there are Walmarts in the area. You just might have to drive 20-30 mins for them. Either way, I don't remember seeing any guns at any So. Cal Walmarts. Just BB and Airsoft type stuff.
CA Wal Marts still carry ammo and gun stuff except in some of the more ghetto areas. However, gun sales were suspended a while back. Wal Mart was fined 20million or so by CA DOJ for many irregularities and such in selling guns such as selling guns to people who where prohibited persons and giving out guns before the CA mandated 10 day wait is over.

Supposedly they might sell again once they train the employess better but I doubt it will happen. I've even see where Wal Mart once sold ammo in a particular branch but eventually took it out.

End of black powder hunting season is a good time
to stock up on Wally World Pyrodex RS and Hodgson 777
at nine dollars a pound or less. They liquidate unsold BP
supplies at discount. They don't know that some of us,
like me, shoot BP competitions March thru October,
and would buy Pyro or 777 all year long.

Someone should see if they could grab the shelf tag for these marked down guns, scan it, and post it on here. If you printed it off and brought it in they'd honor it. :D

I'm still watching my two local Walmarts. No further mark-downs on black powder, yet. Pyrodex is still $9/lb and Triple 7 is $15/lb. I wish they'd hurry up and mark it down further. I'm getting tired of going in there every 2-5 days to check on them.

Why would they clear out an 870?

Most popular shotgun in history, made since 1950, with no sign of ever being discontinued. No word of models being discontinued. Not the sort of gun that is usually "special order", since it's the most common shotgun in the world. They'll get another one in next week, most likely.

Wal-mart's clearance policies never made sense to me. If you can, stock up!

Unfortunately, Wal-Marts in California didn't follow our bizarre gun safe recordkeeping policies (the customer has to get a trigger lock or sign that he/she has a safe or locking cabinet), so they had to pay a fine and suspend gun sales. So there won't be any guns here. I'd love a Marlin rimfire boltie for $50. Hell for $125 I'd buy another 870 just for the hell of it. And a 20 gauge 1300 for $150? I'd buy that, too.

Oh well. I did get a nice knife for a dollar.

I got a Remington 700 adl, for 200. They had a list in the gun cabinet with a list of marked down guns. I almost broke my arm reaching for my wallet. Oh yeah,it was an 06.:)

Word got out. Locally the $150 Remington 20 gauge guns are gone. $159 Mossberg Maverick they have a few of yet. Hmmmmmmmm.

I just stopped in WalMart today to buy a game (not something I would like to do, but they were the only store in town with Call of Duty for 14.99). I looked over at the gun section, and the 870s were still 225 or so :(

Yeah, No guns at Wally World in Cali, (Maybe in the sticks somewhere like Merced or Yreka or something.) Wal-Mart here in San Diego would love to carry firearms, as the military sales would ensure quick stock turnover, but Cali DOJ has ridiculous standards for them to meet.

As much as I like to tell myself I would still buy guns from mom&pop stores, if Wally World had them, I couldn't say no to $125 870s and $150 M1300s.

Just picked up a Marlin .22mag rimfire. Bolt, Stainless, synthetic for $50 !:)

We sold both of ours at $125 before I got a chance to buy one, a guy came in and bought it and was on the phone to his two brothers let them know before he was out of the store. I was pissed.
