Very, very nice. Welcome to the world of Colt revolvers.

As others have said, they do love company. Next you'll need a Cobra, then an Agent, shrouded ejector rod, unshrouded ejector rod, etc, etc...

Have fun!

It is actually my third revolver.. A Highly modified Taurus 608, a Smith 64, and now this sweet little babe.... I am losing it guys... I have this single shot compulsion with rifles, I am about to be getting my first milspec rifle (k-31), and now with the Colt (and other) revolvers... I am ruined.... What in the world am I going to do?

PT1911, it is very sad that you buy a Colt... Now your other revolvers will be buried in dust in your closet...:D

Congratulations from another Colt fan. While I certainly enjoy and appreciate all my various Colt revolvers, I find the Detective Special the most natural and comfortable fit for me.

Enjoy your new beauty!

They look good and are fun to shoot with, but...

Colt stopped making them for a reason. They weigh a ton - you'll be surprised at how much of a difference 4 or 5 oz. makes when carrying over the course of a lifetime. I'd be surprised if Old Fuff doesn't have a slight misalignment of his spine and all sorts of additional wear and tear on the knee and hip joints from lugging the beast around all these years. Plus they got a spur on them that will snag on everything in sight. It also may tempt you to try and cock it for single action shooting - something no serious defensive minded citizen should even consider lest it lead to dangerous habits. The blue on steel design loses in every category when compared to modern no-maintenance finishes and materials. It probably will only withstand a few thousand +P firings. Even then, with that pipsqueak cartridge you'll probably get killed during the required reload as the bad guy laughs off the insignificant impacts. As antiquated as these things are, you might as well of just picked up one of those worthless SAA. Hope you didn't get taken on the deal for this relic. I still deeply regret my lapsed judgement in getting one and often wonder why I even waste the space to store it or the ammunition to use it.
