something fishy just happened

Nothing about this situation means that this is a setup or anything wierd.

If you give me an email contact, and I really want to get ahold of you, I will google your email address and see if I can dig up your phone number.

I have had deals go sideways over email, and pulling up a real phone number cut the crap.
Maybe I'm just a little overboard but, if someone lies to me about buying a gun for someone else, then when she gets caught in the lie tries to further cover it by denying everything, I'd call that suspicious, and weird. My personal opinion is that this is definitely one to call the PD, FBI, and BATFE. Something doesn't smell right with this woman, and if any suspicions are proven to be unnecessary, then the authorities can sort it out.

You're right, nothing like this should happen. But in real life, it's a piece of cake. Ask any teenager, they can show you how to research anyone!

1. Call police and report incident complete with "Courtney's" info.

2. Call "Courtney" and let her know police are involved and she will be their first stop should something bad happen.
That would be my course of action. There's too many lies flying around about the whole thing.

Or you could call her about her chairs with nearabouts the same story. And if you meet, bring people who are armed and have cameras.

Good luck, keep us informed.

when it smells like crap, taste like crap, and sounds like crap....then its probably crap.

Dude, you're getting set up.

If I'm negotiating with you by e-mail and you dig up my phone number and call me without my having given it to you -- that's the end of the negotiation right there.

i never send out my number, only through PMs. this cell phone number is 2 months new, I just got this number.

I must say your situation is indeed disturbing. I agree with people who say you should contact the police but then again what are they going to do? Finding your number and lying to you does indeed hint at some thing illegal could happen in the near future but there's not much the police can do about someone who finds your number and lies to you. Unfortunately these days police need quite a bit of pointing out things legally at least, before they can do anything. Isn't it scary how criminals and criminal activity is protected like that? I just thought of something, is the phone number they called you on the one in your internet service provider's records? They could have gotten your email, hacked the ISP and gotten your records... and if that's the case they know where you live and everything else.

"jk, ive got these for the boys. i hope it would be enough."

:what: well now I'm just jealous. I fear though that this thread is gettin' a wee bit off topic.

Or, just beat her up and steal her chairs.

lmao!

I would definitely stay away from the whole deal and wouldn't try and contact her anymore. If it's your cell number no one should have been able to get it unless they have access to your providers records or unless you have your number posted somewhere online. Good luck.

something else is that if she had sent you a copy of her drivers lisense she would have gotten your address-not smart

watch your tail,and good luck

if you do decide to sell teh gun online consider doing it at a gun range or gun dealer

jsut because it wouldnt look that bad having a gun outside of a gun store and if anything happens you have witnesses\

an ar-15 and your wallet isnt worth a life, i would give it up if they had tried anything but do it someplace with cameras so there is evidence

UPDATE:

With the help of all the members on here, I was able to find out "courtney's" boyfriend/husband ar15.com account, address, ebay account and their business.

I called and told them the police were involved and the girl still denied everything. The boyfriend called back apologizing claiming that "courney" was stupid and it was a present for him for christmas. He says he has no idea why she lied and she feels really bad and started crying. I dont know if its true, but its his word and I dont believe a thing they say anymore.

I asked how they got my phone number and they said it was from another friend in san antonio. I gave my number to a san antonio buyer who never responded to me after my email so I assumed there was no relation between the austin and san antonio buyer.

the boyfriend also said he didnt want any trouble, wasnt a setup and was not trying to rob me. I dont know about that. There was too much lying involved.

Thanks to the members on here for all the help.

And as we all know, you can always trust in the morality and judgement of armed robbers. Once they get what they want, they'd NEVER harm you.

It would be wrong...

Wow, this is literally in my backyard. ;) I literally live VERY close to these people, if that is in fact the correct address (appears so from a CAD search). Yongxingfreesty, if you need any local help or recon or something, let me know. ;) Hopefully it was a big misunderstanding, though the whole thing still sounds very fishy.

Well, I still think that this whole thing is fishy. I don't know if you're privy to this news but just a few months ago someone was lured to Dallas in order to buy a car. When he arrived he went to the apartment door to knock and was killed while his g-friend was waiting in the car.

I have sold one gun in a similar fashion to what you described. I was in a parking lot and it was really scary. I realized then how precarious of a situation I was in.

I still think you should file a police report on it. That way if something else does happen, say your house is burglarized in the next year, the detectives have some place to start looking.
