I recieved my Mold for my 220gr. .456 Lee Conical bullets for my Pietta '58 with it's 5-1/2" barrel "ordered it since I had reamed the chambers to .451 no too long ago" & last night I made 125 bullets from it.

Each bullet that passed my inspection weighed 220.0 - 220.6 grains & measuring them I found something interesting.

First ring that is inserted into the chamber = .4485
Second ring ........................................ = .4500
Third Ring ........................................... = .4555

I knew that the first ring was slightly smaller to help in loading but I didn't know that the second was as well, & they are real easy to load into the chambers of my Remington Copy.

Each Bullet was roll lubed with Lee Liquid Alox & when loaded into the chambers a touch of Bore Butter over the bullet for extra lubing.

Any one have an idea what kind of performance I may get out of this with 35gr. FFFG Goex?

Sounds like a good combo - except for the tumble lube. I've found that it increases the stiffness of the fouling in black powder guns, making them lock up quicker and being harder to remove during cleaning.

Perhaps your results will vary, as I have never used tumble lube and Bore Butter at the same time. I always top it off with Crisco or wax-stiffened Crisco.

I'll be interested to find out how this combo works.

They are awesome. they are aslo supposed to help in scraping the walls to prevent fouling. Those lee molds are awesome for black powder. On one of the other threads they mention about how much it cost to shoot inlines with shooting sabots. Well i only shoot cast bullets. CAst from lee molds and they work very very good.
