The subject of double action shooting has been mentioned.
For the vast majority of shooters, a really vast majority, it is best to
have smooth-faced triggers, no serrations or checkering. The
serrations can really irritate the trigger finger.
Since about the mid 1980s, S&W has had smooth-faced triggers;
before that mostly serrated which help more in single action
shooting. Ruger also features smooth-faced triggers.
When Colt introduced its 2020 Python, it included serrated triggers.
What a mistake especially after redesigning to achieve a light DA.
And yes, I know Jerry Miculek prefers the serrated trigger. He's really
the rare exception in DA shooting, understatement intended.
