I've never had an issue with Winchester or any of the other big manufactures to be honest. I shoot a lot (to the tune of 5K a month in 3 calibers), and haven't ran into any issues with any of them.

Both Remington and Winchester have lost the contract to produce ammunition at the Lake City Ammunition Plant, and both companies have been going down hill ever since. On top of this Winchester (Olin Corporation) no longer manufactures its own brass for the cartridges it produces. And its ball powder is made by St. Marks Powder which belongs to General Dynamics Weapons division.

Is there any wonder why competitive shooters are buying Lapua brass made in Finland.

Maybe the help found out that was their last day on the job and they figured they would pull one over on the company.

I called Winchester to tell them that two rounds out of a box of 50 .22 LR bullets did not fire, I even tried them about five different ways, still, no spark!

The woman was like "yeah, so, a couple of rounds failed to fire, is that all you are calling about?"

I got off the phone shaking my head, thinking "I am sure glad that wasn't a round that might have been fired to save my life or the life of someone with me!"
