I need a Novak rear sight for a Browning Hi-Power; it seems Brownells and Midway only sell the 1911 version, which can also be fitted, but not the dedicated BHP version (item # Item Number: DCRMKIII01, old style).

Novaks wants $15 to ship a single rear sight (I even wrote Novaks to confirm that they would actually charge $15 to ship a single sight, and they do) and that's sort of silly.

Anyone know a vendor that sells the complete line of Novak sights?

Thanks,

Larry

Brownells catalog #66, page 300. Part # 662-260-009 is the Novak specific plain rear. $34.99 list.
#662-002-007 is the tritium rear. $89.99 list.

Thanks, BBBBill, I saw that one- I noticed, though, that Brownells calls for a .495 dovetail cut, and the Novak site only reference lowering the portion of the slide behind the dovetail, hence my suspicion that it was a different sight.

Thanks,

Larry

Novaks shows three different sets of directions for the High Power, depending on which sight you get, one for the MK2 and two for the MK3. The earlier MK3 was superseded by the newer one.
The 1911 sight is a another option. Same dovetail dimensions as the MK2 (angle and width same, depth is different), but the sight is larger and placement on the slide is slightly different.
The MK2 uses the .495" nominal spec cut. The MK3 uses a couple variations on the factory cut. I think the current MK2 can be used on any HP because of the size of the cut. Double check that with Novaks or Don Williams at The Action Works. He does a bunch of High Powers and is a repository of knowledge. To me the 40S&W guns look better with the 1911 version due to the larger (fatter) slide.
