The 15 round mag that came with my Auto Ordnance/Kahr M1 Carbine is probably the problem. The last round doesn't feed. I've also had a few misfeeds in th middle of the 15 rounds. Anyone know where I should go to get good 5, 10, or 15 round mags? Is this just a crapshoot and I have to be lucky? Are used originals the best bet? I bought one from cheaper than dirt and it was crap. Loose and hit and miss feeding just by chambering by hand, Didn't even shoot a round and returned it. :banghead:

Thanks!

Look for original military 15-rounders wrapped in brown wax paper. They've never failed me. I never did find a reliable 30-rounder, though.

Oh, yeah. I just ordered from them, too. I forgot to say. They ship quickly and the "better" of the two grades of magazines looks brand new. These are high-quality USGI mags.

I only see one grade of M-1 Carbine mags, VG/80%

Was there a better grade, or was this the good grade and the bad one are gone?

There are 4 M1 Carbine magazine listings there:

MAG17 is for one M1 Carbine mag, in excellent condition.

MAG17A is for 10 mags, in excellent condition.

MAG18 is for one mag, in Very Good condition.

MAG18A is for 10 in very Good.

The Excellent mags look like new.

D'uh. My bad. Somehow when I looked at it first, I thought the "Excellent" mags were 30 rounders and only the "Very Good" mags were 15 rounders. Sorry.

Oh, no worries.

FWIW, I paid for the excellent ones, and after seeing them I'm pretty sure that the "VG" ones are probably pretty darned good indeed. If I had it to do over, I might just get the VG ones instead. Now I have to worry about scratching the pristine finish on my pretty new magazines. :D Plus, I have my old warhorse M1 carbine with all of its worn finish and character marks...with this brand new blue-steel magazine sticking out of the bottom. It just ain't right. ;)
