Has anyone ordered a firearm from Southern Ohio Gun? Some of their firearms are listed as very good. When I called them, all they could tell me is that they are in very good condition and nothing about the bores. They said they are only a distributor. The good thing is the return policy. Basically, if you don't like it, return it. Just seeing what experiences anyone has had. Thanks.

I have received a MN 91/30, aTokarev TT33, and a Yugo M24/47 from SOG via my local FFL. Guns were in condition as described and are good shooters. I believe you will find that they do not deal direct, you will need to go through a dealer. I had no problems with the descriptions or conditions of the guns.

I bought a few K98s and a "very good" P220 from SOG, very pleased so far. I always go for the $10 handpick, who knows if anyone actually does it, but I was satisfied.

I have been ~ok with the results that I got - one Excellent MN had no rifling and I thought others were optimistically graded. I have had better results when I could get the gun from AIM - I have a C&R for surplus guns and use my FFL transfer dealer for modern.

I received some superb Mosin Nagants from them for cheap cheap cheap...will do business with again.

c&r

i have a curio and relic liscense and have(other than auctions) only purchased from southern ohio gun. i have been very pleased with both handpick and non-handpick guns.
i have attempted to do business with century, but they were difficult, and i gave up. some of my friends also recommend centerfire systems and aim surplus.
i have purchased ammo from Coles and was very satisfied.

i ordered a couple ak's from them... i paid, they delivered, guns worked, hated the ak and got rid of 'em... back to the question at hand, they were good to deal w/, and would i do so again if i needed something they had.

I've bought several guns from them with my C&R. Of the very few problems I've had with quality of orders received they have made it good with no difficulty at all. Most orders received with complete satisfaction.

My dealing have been positive............

I think some folks new to Mil-Surps have their expectations set too high. Very Good and Excellent are not the same as perfect. Once, I paid ten bucks for Handpick and the rifle came through with a small stock crack that would have probably missed by most folks. I gave them a call and they gave me a credit for the handpicking. Also gave me the option of returning it...but how often do you find a Turk with a pristine barrel? Essex

Just bought some ammo from them. No complaints. I ordered, they delivered. They just didn't tell me they shipped.

I had one issue with them....it wasnt taken care of like I wanted but I have since had a few good orders with them.

I prefer to use Classic Arms, these guys are top-notch.

With my C&R I buy from AIM, SOG, Classic, Century and several other distributors. I'd put Classic and AIM at the tops in response, service and actually grading their firearms what they are. SOG is 1 notch below that but still on the positive side.

I ordered quite a bit of stuff from SOG when I had my own license and the guy I gunsmith for still orders stuff from them.

The return policy is pretty liberal but don't abuse the priviledge because if you do, when you try to call repeat orders in they will start telling you items are out of stock.

I remember they had some M1 Garand rifles in stock from Korea several years ago.
I got several in and one was a Winchester that was almost all Winchester parts.
I sent it back because the bore was gone, original Winchester barrel too.
Looking back that was pretty stupid but they did send a very nice condition Springfield to replace it.

Bought 3 Swedish Mausers from them years ago. All hand picked. One had a few mismatched number so sent it back requesting matching rifle in exchange. No questions asked and the exchange was made. All were in near new condition. Probably have 10 other purchases from them. Good company to deal with.
