SP101 did somethng wrong on reassembly

When I took my SP101 apart and put it back together it only works when the parrel is pointing down. Somehow the pawl or transfer bar are not set properly.. . Watched re-assembly on U tube . read ruger instructions. Seem to be making same error over and over.

Anysuggestions?

Take it back apart and try again, with a schematic. Did the little ratchet pawl plunger spring get put back in?

yes . indeed . parts on order. will never find in the carpet.

Use a good magnet. Ace sells some that are strong enough. I've found many a stray part that way, even after I "knew" it wasn't there.

That said, I'd still order a replacement set from Ruger.

I agree, a good strong magnet will find the spring for you in any carpet...

Last time that happened to me it was two of the smallest springs I'd ever seen, and man do they fly! I stripped the magnet out of a 10" sub-woofer speaker and used it to troll the carpet. Found the little buggers after about 20 minutes.
