Hello all,

Have a SP101 with a 3-1/16" barrel in 32 H&R mag. I am trying to find some different carry methods for this gun. It will be carried concealed and open depending on the situation. I have ruled out pocket carry and ankle carry. My dress dictates I need a tucked shirt 80-90 percent of the time. I am looking at a few options but the list is small:

1. Shoulder Holster - looked at the Action Direct deep concealment.
2. Belt Holster - Don Hume Double Nine
3. Tuckable - ?

Seems in the shoulder holster area, they are bulky and alot of them have a belt holddown on the weakside which won't work with a tucked shirt. Belt holsters require a cover garment which just isn't possible alot of the time for me. That leaves a tuckable holster but I have have a feeling that this option might be not the best due to me having to buy all new pants.....HAHA. I am just looking for any and all options at this point and I am not set on any but would like to know what everyone is using for their SP101's and if anyone has experience with the above holsters.

Thanks again.

I have a 2.25" SP101 that I carry in a Kirkpatrick belt holster. Under a suit coat it is completely hidden, and I rarely notice I have it on due to the holster and a good belt.

I also have a tuckable holster, but not for the Ruger. It is a Texas Heritage by Tucker Gunleather. I carry a SIG P228 in it, and it is very comfortable. The ability to adjust the ride height and cant make this a very versatile holster.

I have a High Noon Hosters Hidden Ally for my SP101. It's a nice little tuckable holster. It doesn't have any kind of hold open device though, so it's purely for carry. I might add a strip of kydex inside it to hold it open so I can practice draws easier, or I may just pick up High Noon's Hidden Impact, which is a tuckable stay open holster. Their prices are reasonable, holsters are very well made out of high quality componets, and they'll get the product out to you in a matter of days.

I love my bellyband with my SP101 when wearing tucked in shirts. While holstering and reholstering are difficult, they are very comfortable, and highly concealable. I think everyone should have one in their holster drawer to compliment other carry methods. The belly band is highly concealable and usefull in almost any dress, especially if you are in a situation that requires deep concealment.

Thank you all and keep the sugestions coming. I am seriously looking at getting 3-4 different styles of carry method for this gun anyway just because I can't seem to find anything that is a end all be all.

I carry my 3†SP in a smartcarry holster. It’s the best holster I’ve found for deep concealment and you can tuck in your shirt.

OBG, My Sp is bobbed and pulls very easy from the smartcarry. Also a plus is the second pocket for a speedloader

I make holsters...and have a 3" SP-101. I made a holster that can be carried crossdraw, or strong side. It holds the gun close to your body and VERY comfortably.

Contact our own pcrccw for a custom one. I have a couple he did for my sp101. Awesome work. Several other members here in Utah will vouch for his work as well. He does this full time for a living now, and is quite good. His website is www.hbeleatherworks.com IIRC.
