SP101 upgraded front sights?

I am looking for any options to upgrade the front sight on my SP101. I would like something that works better in low light or against a darkened target. I would prefer to not install a laser sight.

Trijicon had some mixed reviews online. Anything from fingernail polish to full replacements. What works best? What is rugged enough for daily carry?

Testor's model airplane paint. I used orange after my first shots at a black bullseye looked like a shotgun pattern - black sight blade didn't show up well.
Just be sure there's no gun oil on the sight blade.

I use a Meprolight night sight on my SP101 (my every day carry). The dot is nice and big, bright, and has a white outline around it which is useful for daytime shooting. I find it to be a big improvement over the factory sight.

I have an Express Sights Standard Dot tritium on mine and it picks up quickly night or day. They can also be had in the Big Dot variety. From others (no first hand experience) I have heard the Mepro is easier to see than the Trijicon as you have found.
