Has anyone ever heard of a special mini 14: "Spirit of Independence"? I guess this would be a pre-ranch rifle edition?

That's what it says on the side of the reciever of my 1976 180 series Mini 14. Is that what you are talking about?
I love this little carbine...it's got to be about 1lb less front heavy than the 580 series and it has a matching wooden handguard.

Parts interchangibility is non-existant. If something breaks I'm screwed.
