Do they make some type of shell holder that is similar to a speed strip for a revolver that does not attach to the shotgun?

Try a Saiga. They have 5 round detachable box magazines. You can get the mags from CDNN.

those are just ammo caddys.


they do make speedloaders for shotguns, but they're unwieldy, and unreliable.

HSSMITH, Dave and I have been friends for close to a decade so it's an inside joke about hiding toy expenses from the wives.

Like you said I bet there are a lot of guys out there who have secrets with their buddies about the true cost of their obession with guns or hunting that dear wife is oblivious too.

I once saw a video of Jim Clark, Jr. (IIRC) using a tube-type speedloader to load an auto shotgun. He took this tube, which was probably 18" long or so, stuck it in the loading port of the shotgun, pushed forward on something (it was VERY fast and I couldn't see what he was doing too well), and presto!, he had recharged his shotgun.

I have no idea what the device was called or where it came from, but maybe it's what you're looking for.

imho, they'd be better if they were two or three round tubes.

That speed loader looks like a spare part that got thrown out in the making of Frankinstien..... I think I'll get a caddy instead. Those speed loaders look somewhat clumsy!

The Benelli M1 Super 90 Practical (at least when I got mine) came with a couple of those TecLoaders and the bracket that attaches to the receiver to get them to work. The bracket has a couple of extensions below the receiver that the loading tubes butt up against when you shove the rounds into the mag. Tube angle for loading is also critical. The M4 has a couple of studs in place of the bracket for the tubes.

Never really cared for it as I never felt I would be in a rush to load rounds so never put it on my gun.

Speedloader

The TecLoader is the one that IPSC shotgun shooters are using. They go around looking like they are wearing grass skirts. Work resonably well.
