Even better is that locally a Sportsman's Warehouse store took over a big Field & Stream store from Dick's a couple of years ago.

We already have a Bass Pro and a Cabelas locally. Since Bass Pro took over, the quality of the clothing at Cabelas has gone down.

Used to order stuff from Gander Mt., not sure if they're still in business.

Remember when L L Bean was primarily a hunting and fishing supply operation before they went PC?

Glad that theerger fell through, competition is good for all of us. Prices arround here went to crap after Gander folded and left Dick's the only dedicated retail sporting goods retailer, other than a few small small stores.

I've been to Sportsman's Warehouse in Elmira once since it opened, an hours drive. Went during the height of shortages, shelves were pretty bare but did find a few items that I needed.

I do more online shopping now usually check several sites including Bass Pro, closest toe is ear Syracuse, so an hours drive there too.

Speedo66 which location.

Northern KY.

We don't have SW in Kansas City. We do have BP, Cabelas, Academy and Scheels. I don't buy guns from any of them but mostly online.

BP was the one that got ammo on the shelves first here and not for a bad price. Bought some Small Pistol primers there recently.

Scheels has great gun selection but not at decent prices. But the staff is super helpful and they let you try the trigger pull! I bought a lbs of Tight Group there for a good price recently.

Even though BP ruined Cabelas they will still surprise with decent ammo prices and sometimes reloading stuff. The local BP is very popular here and the have a nice walking path and I have used their bow range a number of times.

I hardly ever go the Cabelas any more but I do go to SW when I drive through Des Moines.
