I’m on the Alabama gulf coast, often affectionately referred to as the “red neck riviera, “ as coined by the late Lewis Grizzard.
I pocket carry a Colt Agent revolver year-round, the heat and humidity be damned!
I had always vacationed on the east coast, but vacationed in Alligator Point July 2017.
We stayed in a house on pilings, lot right at the beach / water. Compared to the east coast, there was less breeze (when I was there) and bugs were relentless. It was HOT / HUMID, I was pouring sweat anytime I was outside; yet, I still carried my Delta Elite (carry gun of the time) everywhere.
Moved to east coast FL 3 years ago and I'm within 300 yards of the ocean; sometimes I've seen a 5-6 degree reduction in temperature here versus inland a couple miles.
I think one gets somewhat used to the heat after while; when I lived in KY 48 degrees was not as cold there as it is here now.
