Just thought I'd share my spring turkey hunt from this year. I pulled the first week in Wisconsin's seasons and since spring was late this year it made for some challenging conditions. For the first time we caught a lot of it on video and got some cool shots. I put some of them together and posted it up on YouTube. Check it out and let me know what you think. I'll be posting another video of a friend's bird from the same day shortly too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0OsJkAAbl8

Enjoy,

Wow, 75 views and no comments! Is the video that bad or the link not working?

Video is fine.......could use less filler and more action tho. Still for an amature film maker, pretty good.

Where in Wisconsin were you hunting that it snowed on opening morning? I hunted opening day. first season also here in central Wisconsin and it was a beautiful day for turkeys, not a cloud in the sky and little or no wind. Thank the lord I got my bird right away as the second day(and the rest of the week) was nasty. Second season we had a blizzard, and also the third.

We were hunting in Pardeville, about 10 miles east of Portage. I couldn't get out until Saturday, and like you said, it was nasty. As far as action, this bird didn't give us much. Like the video said he came charging in from clear across the field and didn't stop until he was 30 yards out. He didn't gobble at all or strut much besides what you see in the video. I wish we could have got more of him on tape but the field has a dip in it and we lost sight of him until you see him in the video. The second bird we got that day played around a lot more. He was about 100 yards out and took him about 30minutes to close in. I still have to put that one together and post it.
