Hey guys I just picked up a Springfield Champion 1911 GI model. It's my first 1911 so I'm pretty excited. I'm new to the 1911's, normally a Glock guy. It's had about 250 rnds through it, has some slight scratches, and I got it for $375 from a buddy.
I know about the 1911.org site, it has great info. I can't access that at work so that's why I'm posting here.
I don't really care for the 4" bushingless (sp?) top end. In shotgun news I always see 5" slides going for about 100 bucks. Or complete 5" top ends going for around 200 bucks. Can I pick one of these up and just, well slide it on? Kinda like two guns in one?
Forgive the ignorance, I'm reading threads like crazy on this topic.
