springfield armory 1911-A1, bought today

after reading about the springfield armory 1911 A1 here in my post, i called the owner this morning and went over and fired three mags of winchester white box .45 with out a hitch. i got 1 box and 29 rounds .45 win shells with two magizings and half the transfer fee for 275.00. maybe not a smoken deal, but i,m happy with it. thanks for the posts about the pistol. eastbank.

That is the only 1911 I own and I'm very happy that it. Not a bad deal at all where I live, congratulations.

Congratulations. I was hoping you'd get it. Believe me, that is a smoking deal. Even if you needed to put a couple of hundred more into it, that would still be very decent. As is, spectacular deal. Hope you get a lot of enjoyment and utility from it. What area do you live in?

north central pa., i hit a quart soup can at about 20yrds 6 out of 7 shots and with the sights on the .45 thats about the best can i do with hard ball. i just wanted to make sure it functioned and i know 21 shots is not a true test, but it looks like it will be ok. when i got home i tore it down and went over it and no problems were seen as i cleaned it. eastbank.

My Springfield 1911A1 is quite a bit older than yours and has a blue finish. I like yours just a much, nice pistol.
