Ok gang... do any of you have a Springfield Armory 1911 stainless 'loaded' .45?

If so, how well do they run? I'd like to get a good 1911 that isn't a collectors piece and shoot it often! Might even get it to work with .45 Supers (that's 'might', not sure!)

I just need to know if they are really good guns and will function right (I don't want to have to do work, or get work done, to get it to work.)

Thanks,

Deaf

I have had one since 2007 and had 1 (one) failure to return to battery in the first mag. Thumbed the slide shut and that was it. Bullet proof warranty and performance IMHO.

One here, nicely done, good warranty (never used) get good mags: chip mac, Wilson, check mate.accurate enough to plink paper or practical. Start saving money to buy a Nelson conversion kit.
And, get a selfy with a happy face

I have 3 Springfield 1911's, a Stainless Mil Spec, a Range Officer Compact and the Lightweight Operator Loaded. The Mil Spec and Range Officer worked out of the box. I don't know that either of them have failed to function. When I picked up the Operator, the owner of the LGS, who's also a gun smith, told me that it was built pretty tight and to expect a 300-500 round break in before it functioned well. He was right, and since that break in period it's functioned perfectly.

Springfield's customer service is outstanding, and I'd buy from them with confidence.

When it comes to production level 1911's, you can't go wrong with a Springfield. I've never had any issues with mine, and actually slightly regret letting my TRP go when I was in the process of scraping funds together to foot the bill when I had my Wilson CQB built.

I own a Loaded Champion (4" barrel) and mine has been reliable like a clock since I got it.

I have upgraded the trigger group components but that was out of desire for a better, more crisp trigger, than an actual need.

I've had this one since 1995. Great gun, has never had a FTF or FTE in about 8k rounds over the years. I would buy another. The only thing I would still want would be a nice Les Bear or a Dan Wesson, or maybe a Nighthawk. But for an inexpensive (relatively) 1911, hard to beat the SA Loaded.

I have the OD green version of the Loaded. Nice gun. I did have some FTF and FTE issues that were remedied with 11# wolff mag springs. No issues since then and I'd recommend the Loaded.

Capybara - did you change the safety on yours? Mine came with an ambi safety, and I thought they all did. But mine is 2006 vintage, so maybe my intel is outdated.
