It is because the .45 APC has a lot less muzzle velocity than the .40?????. I know there's no timing problem with my sub .40 because I shoot it all time.
Hatterasguy, if you've never tried to carry something bigger than a p3at, then perhaps you shouldn't be weighing in with opinions on the appropriateness of those larger guns for carry.
It isn't hard, it just takes the right gear and actually doing it.
Hmm how about a full size 5in barrel steel 1911? I much prefer a little 10oz plastic .380, something you forget you have.
The problem I found with carrying a full size 1911 is one, its a brick. Two while pretty thin, it doesn't flex. So you have a big steel brick inside your belt that for me jammed into me everytime I got in or out of my truck. Possible a shoulder rig would be better, but it would still be a brick. IMHO the only way I'd carry a 1911 is on my hip.
I don't find it comfortable, but if you do than whats the big deal? Thats what makes the world go round.
