I have a Kimber TLE II, it's back at Kimber, and they're putting an Internal Extractor Slide on, well after the one year mark of purchase... thier customer service has been great. Said they'd toss in 2 free tac-mags and talked them into an ambi-safety too, Great Customer service!
I have a Springfield GI, hey... it isn't pretty, but it's 100% reliable and for $550, it's a good base to begin for a custom gun or a carry piece (cause you gotta surrender your gun when you shoot someone with it in self defense). So far it hasn't FTF or FTE, not a single hic-up. I had the wood grips crack, they sent a new set out with in 5 days of me Emailing my address.
I pick up a Mil-Spec soon, I'll let you know how that works out in a few weeks.
You get what you pay for when it comes to guns. If you ever fire a Wilson or Bear, you'll know. You can either build it the way you want it or pay for what you're looking for. Keep an eye open, there's alot of hand guns floating around that were bought and the owners only shot a few hundred rounds, then lost interest in them, that's were my lattest Mil-Spec is comeing from at almost 1/2 the price of new, the TLE & GI I purchased new.
1911's are like a drug, after one you'll want more and more... don't laugh at the guy with ten 1911's, you'll find your self there, LOL
