Can anyone please tell me if Federal tactical LE HST 124gr.+P ammo will work in a Springfield XD-9 subcompact? I saw a review where it functions in a full size xd but can't find anything about a s.c. thanks.

That would work fine, if you can find someplace to buy it.... local shop here has it for $100/50 rd.

I have not found factory ammo that our XD9sc won't eat, and I think I've run hydrashocks through it (which I am aware aren't the exact same thing, but I think they're similarly shaped externally) and I mostly run 124grain +P loads for SD testing.

Pick up a small batch and run it through a filthy gun, if it works and expands like you want, stock up!

They work fine. I carry and shoot both the 124gr HST +P's and the WInchester Ranger 127gr. +P+ in my little XD9sc and XD9 4". The Ranger seems like it's actually easier to get right now. Both have suberb reputations for getting the job done. Recoil isn't all that much more than standard loads. Both still work well in even the little 3" barrels. Your only losing 25-50 f.p.s. anyways. Most 9mm ammo is tested from a 4" barrel. Losing an inch effects these loads very little.
