I want to buy a TRP with no rail and the Armory Kote finish. I already own a Springfield Loaded 45. TRP owners, how do you like yours? Do you think I will still like shooting the Loaded if I have the TRP also? Thanks.:)

My TRP has a rail so maybe it's not exactly the opinion you were looking for, but it is a very smooth and tight gun. The trigger breaks cleanly with zero creep. I changed out the ILS main spring housing for a S&A magwell MSH. I lightened the main spring, but I forget what rating I settled on. It really is a top class semi custom 1911. I have not read any disappointed comments about it.

My no-rail TRP was a very good gun. I used it in trade for a Wilson, but do miss it somewhat. For me, the grip checkering was a little severe (although not a problem while shooting), the magwell made the gun a little too big and the ambi safety got accidentally wiped off once too many times while carrying. Also, not a fan of FCS.

But, it shot as well as my Baers and Browns. It's a good gun, you'll not be disappointed.

Thanks for the reponses guys. I'm going to buy the TRP once I save up (might take a while):)
Here is the gun I want

I have the TRP stainless. No rail. No complaints. It has never failed to function correctly. My very first shots out of it (a full magazine) could have been covered by a quarter. Granted, it was only 20', but it was the first time I shot it and I wanted to see where it printed.

My only complaint is the stupid "TACTICAL" and "TRP" slammed all over the sides of it. There's no need for that.

I've got the TRP stainless no rails and it's been excellent. I don't like the full length guide rod and changed that over to the standard GI set up without any issues.

I didn't like the 20 lpi checkering on the front strap of the grip and ILS so I sold mine . It was easy to sell and I didn't take a beating .

1911guy45: The TRP you want is the one I have. I have a loaded model too and I found I've hardly shot it since getting the TRP. I just shoot better with the TRP so I don't bother with the loaded.

I agree with another response about not liking all the markings on the TRP, and also with the sharpness of the front strap. It felt like it would be too abrasive when I got it but it isn't an issue when shooting.
