Greeting's All-

Inquiring minds would like to know, does the stainless steel Springfield
WW-II .45 ACP G.I. models run as well as the parkerized versions?
Question #2- are there any known problems associated with the
stainless versions? Fit and finish seem to be of excellent quality,
and they are offered at the affordable price of only $429.88; so
one would believe that they are a most excellent bargain. :D

Don't own any Springers, but my SS Kimbers run just fine. SS autos need a good synthetic grease on the slide rails to keep them running for extended intervals between cleanings. Stainless is all I buy these days.

I've had 2 Springfield "basic model" pre WWII fullsize stainless 1911's. They both ran well and fed most ammo fine with decent magazines. Both guns however developed rust spots on beadblasted areas. I don't neglect my firearms. I've had, and still do have, Colt stainless 1911's and have never seen rust. I saw a decent, almost perfect, used pre WWII (stainless) the other day with wraparound rubber grips. When I took the grips off (I rarely buy a used gun without checking under grips) the front strap of the gun was ENTIRELY covered in rust. When I made a remark about it the dealer said "Oh the rust is free" The Springfield may take a little more care IMO.
