I've been eyeing the Springfield Mil-spec for quite some time. Good 1911's have always seemed over priced to me, but the MIlspec looked like a good deal. I ran into one at Galayns the other today for $419 minus a $10 off coupon. I ended up walking out without it.
Then today I run into a new WWII model, and they only want $374 for it. It was too much to bear. What a great gun for the money! Springfield is going to sell a lot of these things.

Been looking at a Springfield Mil Spec...from all the hoopla generated on this thread and 1911forum.com, unless the repro is seriously less expensive (in Maryland...if I can find one...or deal with the BS of a transfer) I'll stick with the Mil Spec. Both seem to be pretty good deals, though. Congrats on the acquisition!

My 2 cents.
S.
