Thinking about adding another 357 Sig pistol to my collection. Local shop has a Springfield XD 357 Sig 5" that I was checking out. Should I get it or hold out for a 4" XD in 357 Sig? He didn't have any 4" XD to check out. I'm thinking velocity should be decent in a 5" in 357 Sig. Any comments on the XD in 357 Sig are welcome.

fwiw, on the basis of 100 fmj and sd rounds I put through a friend's (new 2 years ago) Xd-Tactical (5" bbl), I'd say the Xd is a reliable semi.
edit: this was a .357Sig Xd.

I bought the first XD in Oregon in 357 Sig, when they first came out. Mine is the Service Model, with 4" barrel. This gun was so good, it prompted me to purchase 5 more XD's in other calibers.

I've put thousands of rounds through my 357 XD, and it's never failed to feed or fire. I very highly recommend both this caliber and the firearm. It's reliable, comfortable to shoot, and very, very accurate.

I don't own any Tactical XD's, with the 5" barrel, so I can't comment on that particular model.

Hope this helps.

i love my xd, with over 17,000rds it is reliable, accurate and easy to shoot.
and
i like the .357sig
so
i would say that you will be good to go with it.

I don't have the 5" model but I love mine. I can't wait to start reloading for the .357 Sig so I can shoot it more.

Man. I have been looking for a 5 inch 357 XD. None of the shops around here have had them. In fact I haven't seen any 357 XD's here.
