I rented a 45acp XD at the range today and put 100 rounds through it. I have fairly small hands, but had no problems gripping the XD. At 7 yards, I had no problems putting 13 shots into a 2" group.

Recoil wasn't too bad (compared to a G17, my normal range gun), and rapid follow up shots were doable in it. Trigger was a bit mushy, but not very heavy. I didn't mind it at all, and wouldn't feel the need to lighten it if I owned the gun.

My 2 cents, anyone who enjoys shooting a glock will love this gun.

Really is a nice gun.

I have two XD .45acp, one is a 5 inch Tactical with a stainless slide. The other is a 4 inch service model all black. I think if you purchased one, you would really enjoy it. I also have small hands, as I am not a big person. But the gun is more of a 1911 style angle and is very comfortable to shoot. As the gun breaks in, the trigger pull on bth of mine is smooth all the way through. Recoil has never been an issue my .40's have much snappier recoil. One thing I have found, for an auto-loader it is very accurate. I have posted on this previously. I got my tactical model, with the stainless slide here in Omaha for 500, plus 20 for shipping very good deal. I prefer the tactical, but it doubles as a home defense weapon so the 5 inch barrel gives better ballistics. I recommend you get one. I think you would really have a lot fun with it.[ It rapid fires great!]

The Best to you and yours!

I'm already saving up for one ;) I also need to get dies and what not from Dillon cause there's no way i am paying for factory 45acp :)

Here is a pic of my 4" service model XD-.45 ACP, the first too arrive in the
State of Alabama that anyone knows of. I picked it up a few days before
Christmas '05; as it was originally destined to be the factory rep's sample.
Pictuered here with "Secret Service" protection detail Costa Del Mar sun
