I recall handling the HS2000 new at a Gun Shop I part timed back then. I've never owned one but at $200, I would probably own one now. The only XD I own is an XDM-10mm.

I seem to recall some XD lore... "the recoil spring guide rod sticks out from the frame to allow stand off distance for point blank (execution style) shots." Seems fitting based on where this gun was designed...
