I've handled a few that belong to friends, another friend sent a sprint run Spyderco R model with Nishijin glass fiber scales that's the same size. I've decided that the PM2 is my next knife, but I can't find a retailer that has one in stock. Am I missing something?

Yeah, I'm not paying $70 more for a sprint run that only has marginally if at all better steel than the standard version. I'm also not too interested in paying $30 more for a camo handle with black blade.

I guess I should have clarified that I can't find a standard model in stock anywhere.

According to the guys on the Spyderco board, there is a shortage of Miltary and Para 2 knives.I saw a few at the last gun show I was at.Check your local gun show?

The nearest local gun shows are an hours drive away when they're in town. I'll just wait until they're available online again, and not spend $3.75/gal in gas to hope to find one at a good price at a gun show.

Yeah, they're a terric buy at around $100. Jeff at Cutlery Shoppe may still have an 87mm Persian 2 in stock, too- incredible buy for about $92 on close-out.

I think you're just going to have to wait until supply catches up... or until the Military 2 comes out and everyone obsessively buys that :).

In the meantime, the Manix 2 comes in a few interesting variants and is a pretty nice knife.

Guys sell them on the exchange over at BladeForums all the time. If you want a user you might be able to save a few bucks.

I have about six of them in a variety of different variants. The Para2 is about as close to an ideal everyday carry knife as I've encountered yet.

Zhyla, if the G10 handled Manix 2 was offered with a full flat grind blade like the LW and XL versions are I'd be all over it. The new black handle Manix LW with the torx pivot screw is pretty tempting.

The Manix2 blade is so damn impressively heavy with a hollow grind though, if you haven't held one you need to.

Personally, I'm thinking Native 5 one of these days. The Manix is just huge and in the summertime I prefer less stuff in my pockets.

That is kind of subjective though. I am perfectly happy carrying a 5.8 ounce ZT 0550. The Manix 2 is only 5 ;)

And both weigh less than a Buck 110.:what:
