Would like to start carry with my SR9c. I have odd body shape problems and I would like to limit gun print (conceal as much as possible). I dont want anyone to know I carry if at all possible. No need to advertise.

What holster should I consider and what location do I carry?

I am 5'9" and about 165 pounds. I have freakishly skinny legs and literally no ass. The pants I wear are on the slim side, they have to be or I look like a baggy pant gangster. I cinch a leather belt tight or my pants will loosen up and fall. Slight pooch of a gut now, but not yet hanging over my belt.

Secondary option would be to carry/conceal S&W 442, but I am more competent with my SR9C.

Seriously loose clothing looks strange on me go figure.

There are a lot of options for holsters in this category, leather, kydex, or leather/kydex hybrid. Kydex always seems like a good option for polymer guns, as they are lightweight, durable and weather resistant much like your pistol. The SR9C is not as common as the Glock, M&P, or XD, but they are fairly common and most holster makers should offer something for your gun.

The greatest number of people probably have the most success concealing with strong side Inside the Waistband (IWB), usually in the 3:30 to 4:30 position. Some IWB kydex options…

A lot of guys are also using Appendix Inside the Waistband (AIWB) with success. This puts the gun in the 1:00 to 2:00 position. There are fewer AIWB options, but they are there if you look.

Even though these are all IWB options, they will all still need a cover garment of some kind. There are also tuckable models available if you need to tuck your shirt in. Even though the SR9C is a fairly small, lightweight gun, you should also make sure you have a real gun belt. They make a difference. Ultimately, you're going to have to roll the dice and try some holsters on your own. Everybody is different. What works for me, may not work for you. You'll just have to experiment on your own.

Crossbreed Supertuck conceals well, tuckable so no cover garment required. High Noon Tail Gate gives you a tuckable IWB leather option. I frequently carry in a DeSantis Softuk... a surprisingly good holster for not a lot of money. Decent (not great) retention and pretty comfortable. The J hook is adjustable so you can carry virtually any position.

For OWB I recently received a Zlogonje pancake that looks awesome, comfortable, holds the gun tight to my waist, and only about 75 bucks. You'll either need a cover garment or (as I do) leave the shirt tail out.

Printing can be mitigated by choice of clothes... dark colors and/or shirts with lots of print tend to break up the gun shape.

As JTO said, you'll acquire several. Quality holsters are seldom in gun stores and you'll buy a few to "try on." Like my wife says, "Holsters are like women's shoes...you can never have enough!"

When I bought my SR9c a few years ago there wasn't much in the way of holsters for it. I did find the Bianchi Minimalist which has worked out quite nicely for me for CCW. While not quite the same as you in terms of weight or height, (slightly taller and lighter), it sounds like we have similar body charcteristics.

I've been carrying mine in a Don Hume H715M No.57-SR9c for about 3 years now. I just had to let my belt out to the next notch.

I have been using an Aliengear inside the waist band holster for my Sr9c it's one of the best holsters I have found its 36 bucks shipped.honestly they are a crazy value do yourself a favor and find their website.....have a good day

First, I love the SR9 and the SR9c!

have you looked into AIWB (apendix in waist band) carry at all? I'm a little more solidly built than you (5'7, 34" jeans, weight goes from high 160's to low 180's depending on how I've been training) but before the beer gut developed (seriously, the holidays while your in school is the WORST time to get the flu and have your thyroid meds get screwed up) it worked really well, and it still does. I've also heard a lot of guys built more like you say some really good things about AIWB.

Should you decide to go that route, Keepers Concealment makes a really good holster called the Keeper that I carry my M&P shield in just about every day. It's pretty comfortable, and does a great job concealing the gun.

As far as belts go, I'm a huge fan of the riggers belt style, because they tend to be stiff enough to give good support, they aren't terribly expensive, and you apcan adjust it however tight or loose you want it, not just to the closest notch.

I haven't used one, but I've heard really good things about the Raven Concealment holsters as well.

I will second the vote for Aliengear. Mind you, I'm rather very new to CCW, but I'm very happy with how well it's working out for me so far. Comfortable, seems to be pretty solid.
