Heat also helps stubborn parts come loose, especially if there is thread locker involved.
If it's that tight someone really over torqued it or really hit the punch too hard when it was staked.Ok, so I just got back from my local gun shop, where their part-time "gunsmith in training" guy couldn't get this nut off either. And he was mounting it in a vice, and using a much beefier wrench than the one that I have.
