Hi, Thought I would give a Star BM a try for $129 +sh+ffl to the tune of about $170 , ordered 1 today from Aim. Should be here tues/weds. . Seems some here enjoy them also . Need a cheap 9mm plinker for at the in-laws !!What does " good " condition usally mean from Aim ? But really what do you get nowadays for $170 in a firearm ! ...WVleo

I live near AIM and shop in person with them once in a while. The couple of Star BM's I saw on display looked pretty decent, issued and carried perhaps but not abused. You should be satisfied with your purchase.

IMO you can't go wrong with the Star or AIM. I am a regular shop in person guy. I work 5 minutes away from them. Great people, great items and great prices.

Star BM from Aim

Hi, The 1 I recieved from Aim is definitely ABUSED ! Safety and grip panel are all gouged up. pitting and rust everywhere . Slide has dings all over it ,even the guide rod has dings. Learned my lesson, never will purchase from AIM again ! Ad said good condition ,but expect holster wear, this guys holster must have been made from concrete ! Well live and learn. Sure I could send back for a refund ,but lose shipping and FFL costs. This P.O.S. will be going in the local swap sheet today !!!! Aim is 1 place that won't be getting a copy of my C & R FFL. Christ I got a better gun ( bulgy Mak ) from S.O.G. !!!.........WVleo

Hi, Well there customer service e-mailed and apologized ! Ofcourse they will exchange it. Or refund my purchase even pay for shipping back. But I STILL eat another FFL ($30) transfer fee to get the gun they should have sent in the first place ! Also threatened Me with a 15% restocking fee if it was as advertised ( which ofcourse it is because they rated it ). Some customer Service I end up paying for there Crappy Service ! I told them to just send Me replacement for the grip, grip screws, slide and safety and I'll wash my hands of these bubbas !!!!!!!! I'll bet not 1 in the display case in there showroom looks anywhere near this turd ! Pissed is a long way from how I'm really feeling ! WVleo

Sorry to hear about your experience, especially since I bragged on them. If you talk to them again ask to speak to Brian or Erik. I have never heard anyone that didn't get satisfaction out of them with any problem, either in person or from the internet.

Gun show's rock for surplus buys, if for no other reason that you get to look at what gun you are actually getting beforehand.

My Star BM from J&G sales was a little rough but cleaned up nicely. I picked up another that was in better shape at last weekend's gun show for $157 out the door with two mags, the one from J&G was $165 after shipping and FFL fee and only had one mag.

The gun from J&G shoots better its sights are on -- the new one seems to shoot high and right and doesn't seem to group as well, could be because its trigger is noticably heavier. Maybe I'll change my opinion with a little more shooting and minor adjustment to the sights.

I had two to choose from at this price, the one I picked was clearly tighter than the one I left behind.

Nice pair of guns for a bit over three bills. I decided to look for a spare after I didn't see much in the way of Star BM parts from Numrich Arms, or whatever they call themselves today.

I bought a firing pin and extractor from Numrich several months back. They were hard to find on their site and I'm not sure if they still have them but I recall they were fairly inexpensive.

Hi, I am just hoping to find a decent Star BM because I like the fit in my hands , just can't bring myself to shoot this rock AIM sent Me ! Gonna have to start looking at the gunshows for 1 . $30 (ffl transfer fee) is just to much cash for Me to find out what someone else's opinion of "good" condition is ! I'll just look a little harder this time , 1 will turn up . ...............WVleo

I have become quite skeptical of AIM lately. Seems I read more and more people getting turds from them. I was ready to pull the trigger and get one from AIM but now am going to look elsewhere.

I bought a BM from AIM awhile back and it was a huge POS. It looked like it had been dragged behind a tank on asphalt. Really a mess. After I cleaned it up and reblued the slide (still looked like crap), I took it to the range. "Fair" accuracy, but after 1 and a half mags, the barrel link broke and the gun was useless. Can you find spare barrel links for this gun? NO! Not even Numrichs has links. I had to reshape a 1911 link to fit, which was a pain in butt, to say the least. I also bought a M59 SKS from aim that jammed every round (and that's an SKS folks!). I would avoid AIM. I've dealt with them in the past and had good deals, but lately they seem to have really slipped.

Oh, I sold the BM as fast as I could. :fire:

Hi, After just about telling them I hope they all get aids and die slow ( used alot worse language) AIM will no longer do business with Me , like I would ever spend another dime with these BUBBAs ! I told them i wanted to be reimbursed for the FFL transfer fee , they said no , I told them I would contest the charge with Visa , which is my right as a consumer . I was told they would notify the local police and the ATF and report a stolen pistol in my possesion . And the little pissant said " You don't want that kinda trouble knocking at your door " . All this because they are " Dumping " crappier BMs thinking you won't mind taking it in the rear ! Threaten Me you little bastards Huh . Road Trip coming up to Ohio for Me in the real near future ! They told Me I'm not welcome and they would call the local police ! Police , ATF WHAAAAAA, WHAAAAA, WHAAAAA. Pay Me MY MONEY ! My whole end from a bad transaction of your fault ! I know they won't tho so this rock goes in the trader Saturday ! ...WVleo

Sheesh... I'm sorry to hear of your problems with them and you are understandably upset, but threatening a gunshop is rarely going to get you anywhere. If you really want your money back, get an RMA, send the gun back and then contest the charges. You're still out the FFL fee, but you should get your shipping back.

I got crappy service from AIM when I had to deal with em. They would only refund my order costs and not shipping (there mistake and the product shouldnt have been shipped) and VISA gave me credit even though AIM wouldnt and forced the charge back on them. Return the pistol to them, ignore there BS and let VISA know. AIM threatened me with them fighting me in court yada yada and how VISA is gunna laugh at me, needless to say VISA's rep was SHOCKED by there behavior and I got ALL of my money back. I figure if they wanna go to court against me over $8 go on ahead. On the downside you will most likely have to eat the FFL cost :(

Yeeks - I was about to order a couple more for myself, but after reading these remarks I may have to rethink the ol' game plan...:scrutiny:

I got a Star BM from AIM about two weeks ago, have not had a chance to shoot it yet.
I certainly has holster wear as they advertised, but does not look abused, and mechanically feels and looks OK, and cycles well by hand.
