Hey guys,

I need some info on a double barrel shotgun and hope y'all can help.

the gun in question is a 12 gauge side by side, single trigger. it is marked "interarms, alexandria, va" and "star gauge". the barrels are made by aramberri in spain.

This shotgun has belonged to a family member for about twenty years and we have never been able to find any info on it, such as when it was made, imported by interarms, etc. It has been a good shotgun, pretty reliable, and quite handy at dropping doves. It's the only one we have ever seen and we'd like to find out more about it.

can anyone help?

thanks

Star Gauge was Mfg'd in Spain by Victor Aramberri and imported and distributed in 1971 By interarms of Alexandria Virginia.

There is a 20 gauge on GunsAmerica for $599. The Aramberri company is apparently out of business, and of course so is Interarms.

Thanks, guys.

Was 1971 the only year they were produced? any collectors' interest in them?

Aramberri 12-gauge shotgun

I also own an Aramberri shotgun imported by Interarms in Alexandria, VA. I recently inherrited mine from my grandfather. He purchased in used in 1975 (would you believe that I found his receipt when I was going through his papers in 2007!) I don't know much more about it, but I thought you might like to know that yours isn't the only one out there! :)

I just purchased one for about $400.00. It looks like it's about 95-99%, clean as a whistle, and did a grat job dropping clays when I tried it out this weekend. My question now is can it handle steel shot for dove season?

I would think not.

Double guns of that age usually had thin barrels at the muzzle.

Steel shot can swage the choke out and cause a ring to form on the outside of the barrel where the choke was.

On a single barrel without a rib, it is mostly just unsightly.

On a double barrel it will split the solder joints holding the barrels & ribs together.

I would not risk it.

I bought a new 12 Gauge, Star Gauge in 72 0r 73 @ a gun show in Phoenix, $175. Filled many limits of Dove & Quail with it. It still looks like it did the day I bought it.
If memory serves me correctly, the right barrel is Improved Cyl and the left is Modified.
I think it would take many, many thousands of rounds of steel shot, to show excessive wear on this shotgun.

drawings

Does anyone have drawings or a parts list of the Interarms star gage side by side? I just purchased one that is missing parts.

Thanks
