It looks like there's no advanatage for a group buy from Magna for the new STAR Lubrisizor.

Here's the response from the sales department regarding my question.

We appreciate your interest in our Star Sizer. The sizer with one standard
bullet punch is $195.00. We recommend sizing all bullets nose first and
using one punch for everything from 9mm thru 45's. Sizing Dies are $35.00
each. When ordering dies if there is more that one grease groove please
give us the number of grooves and the distance (center to center)of the
grooves. We can't give you a quantity price as we have trouble keeping
the sizers in stock. They sell faster than we can produce them.

I also contacted 'John Paul Jones', (of THR). He mentioned the difference between the current Aluminum Stars, and the famed Stars made of cast iron. Personally I like iron, so I'll keep searching for an old one.

What's it Worth?

I have a pretty good condition RCBS luber Sizer... Old & Heavy (not the II gen)... What is the market $$$ on these? I reload, but don't cast... Thanks!

I've seen the later model go for as much as $70 on Ebay. The older ones a bit less. As soon as I find a STAR, I'll be selling my Lyman 450. It's in great shape with extra parts, so I'll be hoping to get maybe $50 for it. The STAR will cost my four times that.

Maybe you missed a digit. Star Lube sizers have been going for $170+ on ebay with one die and punch. Have seen some go for considerably more, and very few for less in the past year or so. If you can find one privatly, or at a gun show you may do better, but they are few and far between.

So besides getting lucking and finding them on ebay is there a good place to get dies for Stars?
