Starline Brass

One month ago I got 200 243 win and last couple of weeks they had 45-70 available for back order, I made the back order and got the brass around 10 days later.

I've PIF'd quite a bit of brass this year, mostly .30-30, .38Spl, .357Mag and various flavors of .32S&W/Mag. The .308 @Akula69 sent me to pass around sat longer than I thought it would but it's more common, I think, than any of the traditional civvy calibers. I may have some more coming up, soon: .45ACP mostly, IF I can get it sorted and in some kind of decent order. The stuff's stashed all over the shed and store room in every kind of box and jar imaginable.

It is just the way of things, if you want that specific brand you are likely going to need to wait.

About a month or so ago I was on the hunt for some 3006 brass, and like you could not get my head around there is none....not this or that brand, NONE.

Wife found some norma brass, she did not tell me the price.....so for $129 I got 100 cases of 3006. Ouch, but I guess it is the way of things now. It should last me quite a while.
Paid $400 Canadian for 100 pieces of Nosler 300RUM about a year ago.

Has anyone purchased any brass from Starline recently. I checked online this afternoon. Of the half dozen I checked, all were not available. While I admit some of the calibers were not mainstream, but even the 357 was "back-ordered".

Yes, about 10,000 pieces of various calibers. If it's yellow, you can backorder it. That will take anywhere from a week to months to ship. For things like 357, 38, stuff like that...you usually get it in about 2 weeks or less. For oddball stuff, like C45S, may be months. If it's red, it's locked, check back. Most of their more popular calibers will cycle from red to yellow about every month. Green is actually shipping immediately. Usually things are only green if it's something that isn't in high demand, but they ran a big batch...or things they are actively producing and got ahead of backorders. Don't wait until it's green, order it when it's yellow.

Ordered 1000 9mm a month or so ago, it showed ‘backorder’ at the time, I figured weeks to months given the way things are.

It arrived about 10 days after order, $161 delivered. Been a fan and customer many years, I wish there were a comparable primer manufacturer.

Also but OT, my Wal-Mart has Fed. 40 gr. .22s for $21/325.

Woooo SLOW down with the possable New Primer Factory that Starline might/or might/not be coming out with. Not Saying Anything!

Reading these posts is exactly why, nowadays, I am keeping all my handloading supplies right here at the home. It doesn't seem to be getting any better for components.
Hope you loaders have enough.

Most of the popular brass shows as "backorder not available."
That means they have none in stock, and don't know when they will.

If the site allows backorder, I think that means they have it in a big box, but not yet inspected/packaged for sale-by unit.

I received "back-ordered" brass in a week or so after the back-order was accepted.

Starline is struggling to get brass. I suspect they are just a re-seller. Very much doubt they are forming the raw material.
If anyone knows for sure otherwise, I'd be interested to know.
