Two I got from a State Trooper Uncle when he died in the 70s. :(
A Colt Police Positive .38 and an S&W 520 NYSP gun (he bought) , I also have a Colt Cobra from the 60s he carried. He liked "convoy jacks" , I had this one made.

As I'm sure you know that 520 NYSP has somewhat of a collectors premium attached to it. Neat looking Jack, is it from the Foster brothers?

Nice revolvers.
Years ago I had the opportunity to purchase a 520 and passed it by.
One of my many regrets!

The 520 order was canceled and S&W dumped them. Everybody knew they were instant collectors' item. Saw first one around 1995 at $300. Now ridiculous.

This one has incorrect. pre-1968 stocks. Correct would be the "Modified Magnas" like the M58 wore. Only two N frames to use this style.

Foster brother Jack
I put those stocks on because I like them, still have the mid 70s original ones
Funny thing the .357 is the most naturally accurate one I own (of many) putting 158 grain +p .38s into bitty groups OFF HAND at 15 yards out DEAD ON .
The PP Special is smooth and also hits to the sights with 158 grain ammo. I believe my Uncle carried this one on duty his last years of service in early 70s

I am a little confused here. My Uncle died in 1981 after several years of cancer from all those cigs. He got out of the State Police around 1975-76 after 30 years the last 7 inside the barracks. He told me he bought this gun in 1979 I thought. So if they were only made in 1980 as I am reading what's up?

Please forgive my ignorance in asking a stupid question...

What do you call the silver finger groove insert in the arch of the grip? And where can I buy one for my Colt PPS?

Thanks!

It's a Tyler T-Grip adapter. I have used them for years on my J frame snubbies.

It's a grip adapter, Tyler T-grip and BK Grips make them. I prefer the BK products. Tyler is mail order only. BK grips is set up to order online.
