Steel cased round stuck in AR-15 chamber

From what I understand the owner took it out in the desert, used an old wheel and tire, secured it to same, and cooked it off with a torch. Cleared the cleaning rod, and the bullet, however the casing had to be hammered the rest of the way out, using a brass rod. He told me it did minimal damage to the barrel, however I didn't see it, so I couldn't comment on that. You might note that the guy who owned the barrel has told some pretty good tales. I was just glad to be done with it.

BTW, I misinterpreted what the guy told me, the casing exited the rear of the barrel (chamber), however the projectile had to be forced out of the barrel, as well as the portion of the cleaning rod. Note I still haven't seen the barrel, so it is still just hearsay. But I am very happy to be done with it. The guy keeps coming back into the LGS that I do mostly all of shop owners, armor work.

I was thinking the case had to exit the chamber, probably leaving the bullet and rod in the barrel when you posted that.

That's what I said would happen in post #6 & 16.

Fire in the hole! or Thar she blows! Thanks for the long awaited update.

BTW again, the guy who owned the ar-15 barrel in question brought it buy the shop the other day. About 3-4" into the rifling, you can definitely see where, the rifling is definitely scarred, he wanted the upper re-built using that same barrel, which I did, however I did tell him I can't guarantee the accuracy. Although I've seen some barrels with pitting shoot very accurately, so who knows for sure. No more steel cased ammo, I'm hoping, in that rifle.
