Went to a match today and I was excited. I shot my S&W 929 and I beat last months score by over 100 seconds. That was my goal today.

Total is still not anywhere need what I could do before the wheelchair. My best time is 96 seconds.
Today was 192.37. I improved on all but Speed Option. Guess I was trying to go too fast.

Next months goal is to break 150 and then I'll work from there. Since I'm almost walking again I think I can easily improve on today's score. My revolver is now all set up. I found a good load with 147 gr jacketed bullet that shoot 1 inch at 225 yards.

I redid the crown myself but had to have my gunsmith do the forcing cone. Made a great improvement on accuracy.

I brought my caregiver and let her shoot my S&W 22a with a red dot. She did fantastic for her first match and wants to continue shooting. I told her she could use my 22a as long as she wants. Now I just need to get her to buy her own ammo.

yes, 22lr is still a bit hard to come by in arizona. glad to see you getting out and having fun with your gun. cudos on getting your caregiver into shooting sports.

also, glad to see you almost up and walking again. how far into the summer can you shoot steel challenge before it gets too hot?

Thanks. I keep shooting all through the summer. Some days it's in the 100s so I make sure I have plenty of water with me. No soda.

I'm use to the heat now. I use to spend hours when I was into archery and would literally spend the entire day out in the sun.

You just need the right close. I use a chilly vest that contains ice packs in the summer. Really helps to keep me cool. I keep extra ice packs in my cooler and do have to replace them after a few hours.

yes, i lived and worked in the "hell hole" for over twenty years. morning hours are best when it gets above 105.

they have steel challenge up here by prescott if you can travel a bit and when you get tired of the heat.

Great improvement! Revolvers look like a lot of fun. And how much recoil than there be on a 3+ lb. revolver when you're running a 1 lb. optic;).

A friend showed up yesterday for a steel challenge match in his Cowboy gear, 6-shooter on each hip. He's got 12 usable rounds (ok in SC to load 6), but even with both on the belt a New York reload is slow.

it is at a range outside of prescott. i will get some info on it and let you know.
